City of Anoka Response

The City of Anoka is actively engaged with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and local and regional partners with regard to the state and local response to the COVID-19 virus.  City officials and staff continue to monitor the situation.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect residents, customers, and city employees, the Anoka City Council declared a local state of emergency on March 17, 2020 effective through April 6.  At their April 6, 2020 meeting, the Anoka City Council extended the local state of emergency for an indeterminate time.

Update on May 18, 2020:  City buildings had been closed for several weeks, but following Governor Walz’ "Stay Safe Minnesota" Executive Order, we re-opened to the public on May 18, 2020, with safety measures in place.  Staff continues to be available by phone and email. Please refer to the staff directory on this website, as needed.
